Author Responsibilities

JEBS is committed to providing authors with a professional, transparent, and courteous experience throughout the review and publication process. In return, authors are expected to uphold the following responsibilities:

Timely Communication

Authors should respond promptly to editorial queries and requests for revisions or clarifications throughout the review and publication process.

Accountability for Content

Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of their submitted work. They should address and resolve any issues related to errors, misrepresentation, or research integrity if raised during the review process or post-publication.

Confidentiality of Communications

All correspondence with JEBS editors, including editorial decisions, peer review comments, and manuscript drafts, should be treated as confidential until an editorial decision has been made and the paper is published.

Ethical Authorship Practices

Authorship should include all individuals who have made a substantial and meaningful contribution to the research and writing of the manuscript. Individuals who have not contributed significantly, or who decline to be associated with the work, should not be listed as authors. Contributions from others can be acknowledged appropriately.

 Responsible Use of AI Tools

Consistent with COPE’s position, Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, cannot be credited with authorship as they lack the capacity for independent research design and cannot be held accountable for research integrity or originality. Authors must clearly describe the content created or modified by AI tools and provide proper attribution for any works or datasets drawn upon by the AI. Standard tools used solely for spelling or grammar improvements are excluded from this requirement. The Editor reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of AI tool usage in the manuscript.

Ethical Compliance for Human Research

If the manuscript involves human participants, authors should ensure that the study has obtained appropriate ethical approvals from a recognised ethics committee. Authors should also confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants where required, and this information should be included in the manuscript. By adhering to these responsibilities, authors contribute to the credibility, quality, and integrity of Journal of Entrepreneurial and Business Sustainability.

Editorial Check

Once submitted, your manuscript will be screened by the JEBS editorial team. The editor may decline or return your manuscript at this stage if it does not align with JEBS’s Aims and Scope, or if the language, structure, or overall quality is deemed insufficient for peer review. If the manuscript is found suitable, it will proceed to the double-blind peer review process. For assistance or queries, please contact the JEBS Editor at: editor@jebsjournal.com
