Journal Policy

Purpose and Scope

The Journal of Entrepreneurial and Business Sustainability (JEBS) is committed to advancing scholarly and practical understanding in the fields of entrepreneurship, business sustainability, and Islamic perspectives. The journal publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed research, including original articles, case studies, reviews, and conceptual papers. JEBS is published twice annually, with issues released in May and November. Each issue features a minimum of five (5) scholarly articles, providing a vital platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to share insights that contribute to building resilient, responsible, and sustainable business ecosystems.

Peer Review Policy

JEBS employs a double-blind peer review process, ensuring that both reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other. Each submission is initially screened by the editorial team for relevance, quality, and adherence to the journal’s Aims and Scope. Submissions may be desk-rejected if they do not meet these criteria. Manuscripts deemed suitable undergo evaluation by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject area. Authors should expect fair, objective, and timely feedback.

Ethics and Integrity

JEBS adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Authors are expected to uphold high standards of integrity, ensuring originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate submissions are strictly prohibited. Manuscripts involving human participants must obtain appropriate ethical approval and include details of informed consent. The use of AI tools (e.g., LLMs) is permitted for language improvement and content generation under transparent disclosure; however, AI tools cannot be credited with authorship.

Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a substantial and meaningful contribution to the research. All contributors must be appropriately acknowledged, and those who do not meet authorship criteria should not be listed as authors. Authors are required to confirm that the submission is original and has not been published elsewhere.

Open Access and Copyright

JEBS currently operates a fully open-access model, ensuring that all published content is freely available to readers worldwide without subscription barriers. Authors retain the copyright of their work but grant JEBS the right to publish and distribute the manuscript. All reuse of JEBS-published material should include appropriate citation and acknowledgment.

Data Sharing and Transparency

Authors are encouraged to share data, code, and materials supporting their findings to enhance transparency and reproducibility. JEBS supports the use of open data platforms and will assist authors in ensuring compliance with best practices in data sharing.

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the publication process. This includes financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived as a conflict.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions and may raise complaints about the review process. Appeals should be submitted to the Editor-in-Chief, providing a detailed rationale for reconsideration. Complaints regarding ethical breaches, reviewer conduct, or other concerns will be handled in accordance with JEBS’s ethical guidelines and COPE recommendations.

Archiving and Preservation

JEBS ensures long-term preservation of published content through partnerships with digital repositories and archiving services. The journal complies with industry standards for digital preservation to ensure continued accessibility of scholarly content.

Updates and Revisions

JEBS may update its policies periodically to reflect evolving best practices and community expectations. All updated policies will be clearly communicated to authors, reviewers, and readers through the journal website.
