Publication Ethics
The Journal of Entrepreneurship and Business Sustainability (JEBS) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in academic publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to adhere to the following ethical principles:
Responsibilities of Authors
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submissions are original works and that any content or ideas borrowed from others are properly cited. All manuscripts are subject to plagiarism checks. Authors should present accurate data and results. Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is strictly prohibited. Manuscripts must not be under review elsewhere or previously published. Simultaneous submissions to multiple journals are unethical and strictly unacceptable. All individuals listed as authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and approved the final manuscript. Any changes to authorship must be approved by all co-author(s). Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors will evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality, regardless of the authors’ background, institution, or nationality. Editors must treat all submissions confidentially and must not disclose information about manuscripts to anyone outside the editorial and peer review process. Final decisions on publication are the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief and will be based on the recommendations of peer reviewers and the journal’s editorial policies. Editors will investigate and act on suspected misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data falsification) in line with COPE guidelines.
Responsibilities of Peer Reviewers
Reviewers must keep all manuscript details confidential and must not share or use unpublished material. Reviews should be objective, courteous, and aimed at improving the quality of the manuscript. Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest and decline review if they cannot provide an impartial assessment.
Ethical Oversight
JEBS takes all allegations of misconduct seriously. If ethical concerns are raised before or after publication, the editorial team will investigate in accordance with COPE standards and take appropriate action, which may include corrections, retractions, or bans on future submissions.
Research Involving Humans or Animals
Authors must ensure that all research involving human participants or animals complies with ethical standards and has received appropriate institutional approval. Informed consent must be obtained where applicable.
